LAS VEGAS, CES -2019, DJI recently unveiled their new smart drone controller that comes with a 5.5-inch HD display that is bright enough to be used in full sunlight. With this controller, drone flyers won’t need a smartphone to be attached to their devices.
A must-have accessory for drone enthusiasts, this controller can be set up easily with all compatible drone models and offers 1000 cd brightness per square meter. It uses Ocusync 2.0 wireless technology and streams HD videos in real time. The system can easily switch between different frequencies (2.4 and 5.8 GHz) to avoid interference and covers a distance of around eight kilometers (five miles), which is enough for most drone-related activities.
It is compatible with most of the leading drone models, including Mavic 2 Pro and Zoom. It also comes with an integrated microphone, and live stream the video and audio directly on Facebook, WeChat, and Instagram. It can transfer files wirelessly to mobile devices and has the ability to play 4K videos on compatible external monitors (60 FPS Quality).
It can work in extreme weathers and has been tested to work smoothly from minus four to 104 degrees Fahrenheit. It comes with detachable parts which allow for easy packing, it is powered by a 5,000 mAh battery that is enough for 2.5 hours of usage. The only downside is that this device uses non-removable batteries and needs two hours for a full recharge, still, 2.5 hours is enough time as it will outlast almost any drone’s single flight time. Still, it would have been better if more power options were available for this gadget.
The DJI Drone Controller is expected to be available for sale in last quarter of 2019 and is going to cost around $650, it’s a little pricey but the features offered by this product makes it justifiable. It will also be available as a bundle with Mavic 2 Pro and Zoom kits but the pricing for it has not been announced yet.
